Common questions

I don't know what my story is about yet.: That is a normal place to start. Choose 'Help me work this out' when you are asked what the book should give its reader, write whatever you can in your own words, and Amy will come back to you with a few specific questions.
Do I have to upload photographs?: No. A book can be made from typed words alone. Photographs, video and recordings are offered because some people find them easier than writing, not because they are required.
Do I ever have to phone anyone or record my voice?: No. Every part of this service can be completed in writing. Voice recording is one option among several and is never required.
Can somebody help me fill this in?: Yes. Someone you trust can sit with you and help. Where help was given, the studio records it plainly. Only you can approve the finished book, and only after you have read it.
My upload failed or the file type was refused.: Try again — most failures are temporary and the studio will offer to resume. If the type is refused, the studio names the types it can accept. If you cannot get a file in, tell Amy and she will arrange another supported way to get it to her.
Can I change my mind about a photo after I have sent it?: Yes, at any time before the book is locked for printing. Change its permission or withdraw it entirely, and it stops being used from that moment.
What if I don't like the book?: Say so, on the specific pages that are wrong. Amy will make a new version. There is no limit you have to worry about, and nothing is printed until you are happy.

Inside your story you can send Amy a written message at any time, and she replies in the same place. Every clarification she asks explains why it matters, and “I’m not sure” is always a valid answer.
